Our Story

How It Started

It’s 2am on a Friday night, and I’m typing at my desk like my rent depends on it. My friends texted earlier; movie night? I told them I couldn’t. And the truth was, I didn’t want to write. I stared at the ceiling, scrolled, and let the sun set without doing a thing.

Then a single thought cut through the haze: $28 million.

Now I realize it’s Saturday, and I’m hunched over a blinking cursor, pounding out words for one reason: $28 million. That number echoed in my skull like a drumbeat. This wasn’t just busy work. It was real work, real money, real stakes. And I had one week.

For seven days, I did nothing else. Woke up: $28 million. Ate lunch: $28 million. Slept: barely.

By next Friday, it was done. I proofed it at my desk for the 45th time, then sent it off to the grant commissioner, a mini-fridge-sized man with a kind face and a sharp mind. And I swore, never again. Never another project like that. Too much pressure. Too dry. Too Boring. If it weren’t for the fact I was contracted to help, I wouldn’t have done it.

Then a month passed.

And I got a email.

“We got it,” he wrote. “The proposal was accepted.”

My face lit up and it felt like Christmas in my chest. I couldn’t stop smiling. My friends probably thought I secretly got engaged. And in a way, I did. I didn’t just finish a project, I helped make something real happen. Something that mattered. My first real win in the real world, and it felt like I was flying.

That’s when I knew, the dryness and the boredom didn’t matter. The routine I built through sheer dedication was worth it. The feeling of doing something real, something good, was worth it. Looking back, it’s easy to see how that moment changed everything.

I started Worthwhile Insights to serve the visionaries, nonprofits, public servants, small business owners, and all the people who are building things that matter but don’t have time to master the grant writing game. I bring the economic logic and the business acumen. I bring the words that win.

You bring the vision. I’ll help you get it funded.
